A study in Victoria found that the number of injuries caused at home has increased up to 47% in the past 10 years due to a number of factors:

  • High cost of hiring a professional
  • Long wait times
  • Availability of low cost tools and materials
  • Increasing popularity of DIY television programmes
  • Online Information - WWW and YouTube

The report identified the highest DIY Risks at Home -
Men - Grinders, Welders, Car Maintenance
Women - Gardening
All - Mowers, Ladders
